I got the idea for a Grave Crawler from a photo I saw on Halloween-Online.com. I managed to find a manaquin torso for $10 (Cdn) at a party supply store in Toronto, and after that everything fell in place.
You will need: 1 manaquin torso, 1 foam wig head (or manaquin head), a "Pool Noodle" (tm), an old shirt, rubber dish gloves, a scary full-head mask, and Duck Tape (tm).
1. Attach the foam wig head to the torso with Duck Tape. 2. Cut the Pool Noodle into two lengths to use as arms (make sure there is enough to poke out of the sleeves. A small cut at the "elbow" of each noodle will let you bend the arm. 3. Attach the noodles to the torso with Duck Tape. 4. Put on the shirt and button it up! 5. Put the mask on. (I pinned it to the foam head). 6. Turn the dish gloves inside out and stuff the fingers with tissue paper (toilet paper, Kleenex, etc.), then slip them on over the ends of the Pool Noodle arms and affix with Duck Tape.
Now your grave crawler is complete. I placed mine on the ground in a patch of "fresh earth" from the garden and put a lantern nearby to help light his features. I also named him Cromwell, because every good corpse needs a name.
